Choosing an Accredited Shotblasting Contractor in Ireland
Shotblasting is a high-risk activity: airborne particulate, high-pressure equipment, work at height, confined spaces and hazardous waste including lead paint and spent abrasive. Accreditation is how you verify a contractor manages all of it properly.
ISO 9001 covers quality management — documented procedures, recorded blast standards and consistent, repeatable results rather than whatever the operator judges by eye on the day.
ISO 14001 covers environmental management: containment of blast debris, control of dust and run-off, and licensed disposal of spent abrasive and removed coatings. It matters most on sites near watercourses, food production or residential neighbours.
Safe-T-Cert is the construction-sector safety management certification recognised across Ireland, and CIRI registration confirms the contractor is on the statutory register of building and specialist contractors.
Before appointing anyone, ask for the certificates, current insurance, RAMS specific to your site, and references for similar substrates. Rayco Shotblasting holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001, Safe-T-Cert and CIRI registration and supplies full documentation before every mobilisation.
