Chassis Blasting Ireland

Vehicle, jeep, truck and trailer chassis blasted back to bare steel ready for anti-corrosion coating.

Chassis blasting strips road salt corrosion, underseal, old paint and scale from vehicle and trailer chassis so a proper anti-corrosion system can be applied to bare, profiled steel. Rayco blasts jeep, 4x4, truck, van, tractor and trailer chassis along with underframes, subframes, springs and towing gear. Media and pressure are selected for the section thickness so heavy chassis rails and lighter brackets are both cleaned without distortion, and the steel is handed over ready for priming without delay.

This service forms part of our nationwide Shotblasting Ireland work — see that page for the full process, standards and county coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the chassis need to be stripped before blasting?

Anything that must not be blasted — brake lines, bushes, seals, wiring, glass — needs to be removed or masked. The more that comes off before we start, the better and faster the result.

How quickly should a blasted chassis be painted?

The same day. Bare steel flash rusts fast in Irish humidity, so the primer or protective system should follow immediately after blasting.

Can you blast a chassis without removing the body?

Sometimes, with careful masking, but access underneath is the limiting factor. A rolling chassis gives a far more complete result and is usually the more economic option overall.

How much does chassis blasting cost?

It depends on size, how much underseal and corrosion is present, how much masking is needed and whether the work is at our base or on your premises. Send photos and we will come back with a budget figure.
