Warehouse Blasting Ireland

Steel frame, cladding rail and floor slab preparation inside working warehouses and distribution centres.

Warehouses and distribution centres present two very different blasting jobs in the same building: the steel frame and the slab. Rayco blasts portal frames, columns, rafters, cladding rails, mezzanines, racking steel and roller-shutter steelwork back to a coatable surface, and prepares concrete floors to the CSP profile the resin or epoxy manufacturer specifies. Both are almost always done around live operations. We work in bays, phase the works so stock keeps moving, use closed-circuit vacuum-recovery machines on floors so there is minimal airborne dust, and where the frame is being blasted we contain and sheet so product below is protected. Night, weekend and shutdown working is routine.

This service forms part of our nationwide Shotblasting Ireland work — see that page for the full process, standards and county coverage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you blast a warehouse while it is in use?

Yes, by phasing the works bay by bay with containment between the works area and the operational floor. Larger frame projects usually suit shutdown or night working.

How much dust does floor blasting create?

Very little. Shotblasting machines for floors are closed-circuit — the shot is fired and immediately vacuumed back with the debris, so the surrounding building stays clean.

What profile does an epoxy floor need?

Most resin manufacturers specify CSP 3 to CSP 5. We blast to the profile stated on the datasheet and hand over directly to the flooring contractor.

Do you blast racking and mezzanines?

Yes — steel racking, mezzanine frames, stairs and edge protection can all be blasted and prepared for recoating.
